B-I-B-L-E, Yes, That's the book for me...

So, I've been a complete heathen for the past year and have not taken Jackson to church. He wasn't into it and I, quite frankly, am not sure how much of the hype I still buy into... so we just hadn't been going. But, religion is insidious... you really can't get away from it and there's always a little voice in the back of my mind that says, "You are a bad mother if you do not take your son to church!"

A couple of things of happened. Jackson has started asking a lot of questions about God, Jesus, why certain things happen, etc. So, I figured it was a good time to broach the subject of going to church again. Then, we get a flier in the mail for a Third Grade Bible Confirmation. All the third graders go on Sunday and get to walk across the stage and receive a bible with their name on it from the Reverend.

Well, that pretty much clenched it right there. He was in.

So, there a MANDATORY rehearsal for the service this morning at 8:00 am. That's how it was presented on the flier. MANDATORY - all caps. Randy and Jackson were out till 11:00 PM last night because they had gone to the HP Scots football game. So, he was a little sleepy thing morning. But we get up and roll over there, because it's a MANDATORY practice. And the doors are locked. And there's a sign that says, "Confirmation retreat has been postponed two weeks due to the hurricane".

I was thinking very UN-Christan-like thoughts all the way home. I pull up my e-mail to see who I need to call and yell at for not having the decency to call when I could still be in bed. And it was supposed to have been next Saturday. Not today. Groan.

I had to ask Jesus for forgiveness for all my bad thoughts. :-)
