About OVO:

OVO is a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. The insects' home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives.

It’s love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

OVO is overflowing with contrasts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is revealed as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.

*Tickets are for the Wed., February 9, 2011 performance at 8 PM and cannot be exchanged for another date. The contest will end in one week (midnight CST Friday, December 10, 2010) and I will select a winner through random number generation and notify the winner via email.  The winner will also be posted as an UPDATE on this blog post.  The prize is being provided to me free of charge by the wonderful folks at Hadley Media on behalf of Cirque du Soleil.

  6. So I don't really want to go... but I would love to send my wife, her mother and two sisters on a girls night out before our first child comes in February.

We shouldn't be spending the money but if we were to magically win some tickets...that would be awesome.

  8. Cynthia, thanks for this opportunity! I have never been to this type of event. Sounds like a lot of fun!

  9. I would love to see a Cirque show. The only one I've seen is when it was brand new and touring like a stage show. They stopped in Dallas as part of the summer musical series. That was probably 12 years ago. I have always wanted to see one when I've been in Vegas but the prices are always too high. Please choose me.

  14. I am now following this blog through NetworkedBlogs. Another reason I should win the tickets is because my birthday is only two days after the show. That would be a great way to celebrate my birthday.

  16. My favorite Cirque de Soliel show is Mystere -- my husband and I went to see it in Las Vegas on our honeymoon. So much fun!

We went to see Alegria last year when it came to Frisco and it brought back such great memories.

This would be fun for us too!

Thank you for the awesome giveaway!

  19. My wife and I have never been to shows like this. I would love to give her something like this for a Valentines day gift. She would be in just as much awe as our 4 year old grandson Jai.

  20. I want to say I saw them at South Street Seaport when I lived in NY a gazillion lifetimes ago. But, I may be imagining that. Since my children are fond of performing circus tricks on my livingroom furniture I have no doubt they'd LOVE to see this show.

  21. My mom took me to Vegas for my 21st birthday & took me to see Cirque du Soliel's Mystere! It was an amazing experience & I would love to return the favor for her. She has always gone above & beyond as a mother & best friend...& as a broke college student this is the perfect way to say thank you to her!

I adore Cirque and follow them around the world ~ My favorite show has to probably be Quidam, which was my very first Cirque du Soleil show and Dallas' first show.

  23. My favorite Cirque show? Absolutely has to be Mystere. I saw it my first trip to Vegas and it was my first Cirque show. Talk about sensory overload from the front row. Easily one of the most enjoyable entertainment experiences I've had!

  30. I read Lissa Duty's comment, and wanted to add to it, that I saw Ovo last year (and loved the energy and Brazilian music) plus this one was comical. It's amazing how they can move their bodies! I love Cirque du Soleil, David and I try to catch the new one each year.

  31. My first show was Quidam back in the 90s when Cirque du Soleil first came to Dallas! I've been an avid passionate of Cirque and travel the world to see them ~ now they're practically in my back yard! I can't wait to see oVo!
