PartyFest 2011

My Vogue Sketch by Ben Vincent
I work in marketing and part of my skill set is planning events for clients. Big event, small parties. Fun soirees and boring seminars. Um, I mean educational seminars.

I was recently invited to attend PartyFest, a trade show for event planners that is held in Dallas each year.  It's billed as "the largest one-day exhibition & tradeshow of its kind held in the Southwest… a spectacular one-day event featuring over 200 of DFW’s top party & event suppliers.

Educational seminars, food & beverage samplings, silent auction & exciting  new product  demonstrations will be highlighted throughout the day to help YOU plan your next special event."

Man, they weren't lying.  This place was a party for the party planners. Every aisle you went down had restaurants and caterers pushing samples at you. And drinks... don't even get me started on the plethora of alcoholic choices. Yowza. A dangerous place to be at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

It's not a party without the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders!
America's (self-proclaimed) Sassiest Lifestyle Guru, Steve Kemble. And me.
Live party decoration, anyone?
I came across my favorite find of the day, local artist, Ben Vincent. The Vogue Sketch, is a fashion drawing done on the spot and showcases your individual flare and attitude. Everyone looks cool in these stylized drawings. Each sketch takes just 2-3 minutes and includes a splash of color.

What do you think of my portrait at the top of this post?  You will be seeing him at one of my future events. If you are lucky enough to attend...
