Let's Dish Oscar Fashions

So, who won the Academy Award for best this, that or the other? Who cares! You can visit another website to read that stuff.  The night, for me, was all about who is wearing what! From the gown to the jewels to the all-important shoes... let's talk Oscar night fashion.

Here are my favorite looks from the red carpet.

Cate Blanchett's Givenchy gown featured dramatic shoulders with a shield-like front panel. She paired the dress with a simple gold bracelet on her left wrist and wore her hair up in a classically beautiful 'do.

Scarlett Johansson was all smiles on Sunday night's Oscars red carpet in a lacy, magenta and flowery frock by Dolce & Gabbana

Gwyneth Paltrow a shimmering Calvin Klein number, paired with statement jewelry.

Black Swan star, Mila Kunis, wore a gorgeous lavender chiffon gown with tiered lace detailing and grosgrain ribbon waist from Elie Saab Haute Couture.

Dame Helen Mirren hit the red carpet in an elegant silk gray gown by Vivienne Westwood. The puff sleeve detail injects a dramatic touch, while subtle ruching and standout diamond jewels from Cartier add just the right amount of shimmer.

I think she is always so beautifully elegant and age appropriate with her fashions. I always look forward to seeing her on the red carpet and she never disappoints.

Do you agree with my picks or did I miss your favorite?

Now, if you're gonna talk about the best, you have to have to also show the worst.

Melissa Leo won the Oscar, but this outfit gets my Razzie award for the worst gown.  It's a gold lame gown with a doily overlay. Blech. If it had been over a nude or ivory underlining, it would have been so much better. The gold kills it for me.

Amy Adams in a navy sequin gown from L’Wren Scott. It looks like she bought it off the rack at JC Penney for $99. I shudder. And her hair. It should have been up in something more sophisticated. This is the Academy Awards for Pete's sake! She looks like that at every awards show. B-O-R-I-N-G.

You can't have a worst dressed category without having Helena Bonham Carter at the top. It's not that the dress is such a disaster, but her messy hair, British flag garter and fan clutch that, once again, land her on everyone's worst list.
