Saks 5th Avenue kicks off the holiday season with DFW Style Daily

Trudy Creswell and Lisa Petty
Saks 5th Avenue and DFW Style Daily partnered to host a stylish soiree on Wednesday evening to showcase must-have gifts for the holiday season.

Saks Marketing Director, Trudy Creswell, had given DFW Style Daily Editor, Lisa Petty, run of the store and Petty took full advantage of her free reign, scouring every inch of the store to select affordable gifts that would make any recipient squeal with glee upon receipt.

Petty had 3 collections displayed to inspire guests:  Glamorous Gifts, Stylish Stocking Stuffers and Whimsical Holiday.  Petty told me, "I selected the categories with current trends, a wide range of recipients, and all price points in mind.  I truly wanted to show off the fact that Saks Fifth Avenue offers everything from the perfect gift for your boss or a teacher, under $100, to a show-stopping Fendi handbag for the most fashion-forward woman on your list."

The Dallas Chamber Symphony provided delightful holiday music for everyone to enjoy while we ooh'd and aah'd over Petty's selections. And talk about people-watching! The Fashionistas turned out for this event - literally - with LeeAnne Locken in attendance, along with Yvonne Crum, Juan Lerma, Heather Lettieri (if you Instagram, follow her @KittenThief. She posts the best pics ever!) and Julie Hogg.

While milling about, I got a top-secret alert to high-tail it over to Dee Lincoln's Bubble Bar.  Seems that ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" was in town filming Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston for a video they are producing for the show. Hmmmm. Could that mean that Emmitt is in the finals!?  LeeAnne Locken and I sped over to see what was happening and caught up with the crew for some champs. What occurred was top secret. You'll just have to keep watching DWTS to see what happens!! Thanks to Tony for the delicious bites and cocktails we enjoyed while chatting with everyone. Congrats to Dawn and Jon Mellon who turned out to support their friend - on their 25th wedding anniversary!  Now, that's friendship.

Just another night in Big D.

Oh, before I sign off, can we just talk about how amazing my dress is.  It's a Black Halo frock from Merge boutique. If you aren't shopping at Merge on Preston and Royal, you need to get over there. They have a fantastic array of stylish apparel at affordable prices. It's one of my new favorite places to shop!
