Who will be crowned the next Little Black Dress Designer?



The little black dress is a fashion icon, and the region’s top fashion design students are proving they have what it takes to reinvent it. The Little Black Dress Designer – one of Texas’ largest fashion design competitions – has narrowed down its 2013 Dallas submissions to the top ten designs, which were selected by 13 celebrity judges on Monday April 8 at Hotel Adolphus. The finalists will unveil their designs at the Little Black Dress Designer Fashion Show May 22 at House of Blues in downtown Dallas. The top five designers from Dallas will be awarded half of the $30,000 Texas scholarship fund with the other half reserved for the contestants who entered in Houston.



The Dallas 2013 finalists include: • Christine Bullard (University of North Texas) • Jose Castellanos (Houston Community College) • Kelse Clements (University of North Texas) • Kesia Knowles (Wade College) • Lauren Perdue (University of North Texas) • Kim Pham (University of North Texas) • Andre Redar (Houston Community College) • Jose Reyes (Houston Community College) • Nicholle Terry (Houston Community College) • Cheryl Vick (Art Institute Houston)

This year’s 2013 celebrity judges include: Amy Adams (PaperCity Magazine), Rachael Abrams (CultureMap Dallas), Nadia Dabbakeh (Dallas Modern Luxury), Jackson (Fluent), Justin Ghirardi (stylist), Nerissa Helpenstill (Tootsies), John Johnson (media professional), Bret McKinney (Stanley Korshak), Neil Marek (designer, Marek Richard), Khanh Nguyen (Nha Khanh), Stephanie Quadri (stylist), Robbie Richard (designer, Marek Richard), Marjon Zabihi (Neiman Marcus).
