Dear readers,

It's out with the old and in with a brand new year. January 10
The Fashionistas Fashion Fridays featuring collections from Becky Hollands and Le'Venity




Join The Fashionistas for the first Fashion Fridays Event of the year on Friday, January 10 from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM at Fedora Dallas in One Arts Plaza, 1722, Routh St. Dallas, TX 75201. This cocktail mixer will feature collections from local fashion designers Becky Hollands and Le'Venity.  The Fashionistas are bringing you high fashion without the high ticket prices, all you have to do is RSVP and you will be allowed in at no cost. PIXAR in concert at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra


From the Toy Story trilogy to The Incredibles and UP, Pixar has forever impacted filmmaking and given audiences of all ages some of the most beloved characters in cinematic history. Now, for the first time ever, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents Pixar in Concert, with visually stunning clips and memorable scores from each Disney/Pixar movie. Artopia presented by the Dallas Observer


The Dallas Observer will host the 4th Annual Artopia on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 8PM-11PM at 333 First Avenue. Artopia will be an evening of culture, fashion, art, music and food. Entertainment includes musical entertainment, fashion shows, live dance performances and more! It’s an event with a cause as the Observer is awarding local artists with monetary grants for service to the Arts and the Community.


These individuals were chosen from a panel of local cultural denizens, philanthropists and community-organizers. Dallas Observer will donate over $6,000 in grants to our Mastermind Awards winners. Soup's On 2014

This year, the 6th Annual Soup’s On! Luncheon will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Omni Hotel in Dallas. The reception and The Stewpot art sale and auction will start at 11:00 a.m. The luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m. and feature keynote speaker Liz Murray, author of Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey From Homeless to Harvard.

Fashion and Flea and Record Flea in Grapevine is the area’s source for urban-style market finds. Owned, operated and curated by the producers of the Dallas Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Show and Vintage Garage Chicago, you’ll find only items that are vintage, antique, locally produced or hand-crafted at Fashion and Flea.

Items for sale are local, sustainable and green. These items include furniture, decor, housewares, clothing and jewelry, electronics, games, toys, records, cds, ephemera, signs and more.
