Attend The Big Texas Beer Fest on April 5, 2014

Scenes from the Big Texas Beer Fest in April 2013

Mark your calendar for April 5 because The Big Texas Beer Fest is coming back to Dallas’ Fair Park. Named as Dallas Observer’s best beer festival two years in a row, and drawing more than 5,000 attendees last year, the event will be held in same location as the previous 2 festivals in Fair Park’s Automobile Building. This year’s event intends to attract nearly 100 breweries, believed to be the most of any Texas beer festival, including 25+ from the state of Texas. New for this year’s event will be a central merchandise booth, where festival attendees can purchase brewery merchandise and swag from up to 25 different breweries.

This year’s festival will also be one of the featured events during Belgian Beer Day, where the “cheers” that’s given will be simulcast to a public square in Belgium. In addition to award-winning beers from all over the world, the festival will also feature 10 local food trucks, samples of artisan food and beverages from local vendors such as Noble Coyote Coffee, and other neat vendors. Local bands The Beef, Bravo Max! and Grand Ramble, are scheduled to perform in the outdoor food and music pavilion. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local charity, the North Texas Food Bank.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now at http://www.bigtexasbeerfest.com. While VIP tickets sold out several weeks ago, at the moment general admission tickets are still available for $35. VIP tickets enable attendees to gain entrance to the event one hour early to enjoy all the rare and unique beers with minimal lines. The festival’s hours are 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the VIP session set to begin at 1 p.m. Parking will be available at Fair Park for $10, but it is recommended that you consider using the DART rail. The rail has a stop on the Green Line at Fair Park, dropping attendees just steps away from the venue.
