Donate Your Designer Duds to the Salvation Army

Some of the best designer deals of the year can be found at The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Fashion Show & Luncheon and following WEARhouse Sale. I'm not talking about department store stuff here, ladies. I'm talking Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, Escada... ALL the big names! Every year our city's most stylish are asked to clean out their closet for the sake of others. They happily oblige providing attendees with some fabulous finds at astounding prices. The best part is that all of the proceeds go to benefit the Salvation Army.

This year's luncheon will take place on May 5th and attendees will get the first chance to shop.  On May 8-10, shoppers can attend the WEARhouse sale to find fashion for fractions. The Salvation Army has just put out the call that they are collecting for this year's event, so I offered to help spread the word - although I did so for purely selfish reasons - because I can't wait to shop and find fantastic bargains!! Please consider donating your new and gently worn DESIGNER clothing (all sizes), and shoes, scarves, handbags, jewelry and even men's clothing and support the Salvation Army Auxiliary. Call their office at 214-637-8122 to schedule a pick up or for drop off locations visit

Last year at this event, Patrick Patey, Public Relations Manager, noted that a vast region of five counties is served by the Salvation Army’s DFW Metroplex Command. Its population exceeds that of the entire state of Oklahoma. Over 70 services are offered, including disaster relief, homeless shelters, substance abuse treatment, and domestic violence programs. Our city’s Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary boasts 500-plus members, and 2012’s annual fundraiser took in over $600,000 for the cause. Clean out your closet for a cause and be a part of this year's event!
