Oh So Tasty: Roy's

Aloha. Allow me to transport you to the land of swaying palm trees and gentle ocean breezes. It's only a few minutes up the Tollway (off Parker) and it's called Roy's.

I had never been to Roy's before this week, so when they invited me over to check out their new Aloha Hour and crEATive menu, I decided to take the journey.  At Roy's you'll find a Hawaiian and Asian fusion of Pacific Rim cuisine, with a focus on seafood.

The new Bar Bites menu offered during Aloha Hour includes enticing offerings like Crispy Pork and Steamed Buns, Misoyaki Butterfish Lettuce Wraps and a decadent Wagyu Burger (my favorite).

The standout of the night was the Maine Lobster Pot Pie. It had huge chunks of lobster inside and was bathed in a spicy Thai Coconut cream sauce topped with a flaky crust. I'm still thinking about it days later. Probably one of the best damn dishes I've had in a long time. It's $32 but is literally as big as a dinner plate and will feed two people (or make a great lunch the next day). Both desserts we were served, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and the Molten Lava Cake, were crowd pleasers.

Select Bar Bites and specialty cocktails are just $6 at the bar (except for the Wagyu Burger, which is $9), nightly through 7 p.m. It’s Martini Monday every Monday night at Roy’s. Enjoy the Pacific Rim Cosmotini and Misoyaki Butterfish Lettuce Wraps for $6 all night long in our Main Dining Room and at the bar.
