Shop Local For The Holidays: T-Shirts

I often tell people that this website is my love letter to the city of Dallas. I love shining a spotlight on the people, places and events that make Dallas special. We have many creative and talented designers and manufacturers right in our own backyard. Their contributions not only bolster our local economy, but impact our image around the world. Throughout the holiday season, I will be bringing you a series of posts called Shop Local, giving you great gift ideas from Dallas-area designers and retailers. Support local companies this season by considering their wares.

Southerners have an immense amount of pride in our homeland. And no place has more bragging rights of awesomeness than Texas! Take it one step further, and I dare say that Dallas is the coolest city in the state of Texas. That's right, I said it! From our world-class museums to our artistic community, James Beard acclaimed chefs to the plethora of food trucks that roam the streets, designer fashions to unique boutiques, Dallas can lay claim to being the most enviable of all the Texas cities in terms of coolness. Fashion brands are taking note and creating stylish ways for Southern Belles to pay homage to our state, towns and even neighborhoods. Here are a few brands leading the pack in terms of wearable chic. And keep in mind that while I am only highlighting 3-4 designs per line there are many more to view, so visit their websites and poke around! I am crazy about Dan Bradley and the team at Bullzerk. Sure, he has great Texas tees. But Bradley has taken the hometown pride concept one step further and designs hilarious tees that capture the unique flavor of the neighborhoods that make up Big D. From Oak Lawn to Deep EllumHighland Park to Lakewood - no neighborhood is safe from his snark. And I couldn't love it more.  Regular readers might have already noticed that the "I Am Freakin' Dallas" design is what Dan tweaked out for me last week for Bravo's announcement of the Real Housewives of Dallas. My design is currently available for purchase as well. All tees are $23 each and are made of 50% combed cotton / 50% polyester, for an ultra-soft blend that is finer than a traditional combed-cotton yarn. Bullzerk is located at 1909 Greenville Dallas, TX 75206 or you can shop the entire collection online at
