The annual Chi Omega Christmas Market is the primary fundraiser of the Dallas-area Chi Omega Alumnae and is the largest philanthropic event in the country for Chi Omega. A few weeks ago, lucky shoppers attended a Preview Party for the 38th Annual Chi Omega Christmas Market at Centennial Hall in Fair Park. As a spirited kick-off to the holiday season, Preview Party attendees, dressed in “festive casual” attire, enjoyed entertainment by Hunter Sullivan, and devoured sips and bites by Amazing Caterers. WFAA anchor Shelly Slater emceed the event, introducing Market co-chairs Amanda Escobedo and Amy McAleavey. The next day, approximately 1,500 shoppers attended First Call Shopping for the 38th Annual Chi Omega Christmas Market at Centennial Hall in Fair Park. This event allowed shoppers premium access to jewelry, home décor, fashion, food and more from the 180 handpicked vendors from around the country. The 2015 Market, themed Chi Omega Candy Christmas, ran from November 18-21, 2015 and benefited 11 local Dallas charities: Association for Independent Living, Attitudes & Attire, AVANCE-Dallas Inc., Camp Summit, Dallas Service Low Vision Clinic, DME Exchange of Dallas, Hope Cottage, Jonathan’s Place, Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas, ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship and Chi Omega Educational Corporation and Collegiate Scholarships. In total, the Market attracted more than 10,500 shoppers from around the country. The final amount of funds raised will be announced at a check presentation set for Tuesday, February 16, 2016. The 2016 Chi Omega Christmas Market dates will be November 16-19, 2016, and will return to Centennial Hall in Fair Park. To learn more, visit http://www.chiomegaxmas.org.
