DALLAS returns in 2012

When it rains, it pours. Are these network TV people trying to kill me?!  How many shows can one little blogger keep up with?  TNT has just announced it will launch a remake of the 1980's smash series DALLAS, coming Summer of 2012.

If there's one thing TNT wants you to take away from the teaser for its new version of Dallas, it's this: The show is not a remake, just a continuation of the story that played out for 13 seasons from 1978-91 on CBS.

Three prominent cast members from the original -- Patrick Duffy, Larry Hagman and Linda Gray -- are in the new series, which centers on J.R.'s (Hagman) son John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Bobby's (Duffy) adopted son Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe). And from the glimpses we get of them, the old hands haven't changed too much in the intervening years: Bobby's still conflicted about his family's legacy, and J.R. still wants everything he can get his hands on.

You'll have to wait until summer 2012 to see the full show, but we're guessing the next 12 months will include more teases of Dallas. For now, what do you think of the teaser?
