Celebrating Double Digits

Ten years ago today, the most miraculous thing that's ever happened to me occurred. I gave birth to a baby and my life changed forever. It changed in ways I had anticipated:  lack of sleep, the loss of personal freedom, no more leisurely crossword puzzles on a Sunday morning and no more evenings out that didn't cost $50 in babysitter fees just to walk out the door.

But my life has also taken unforeseen turns and twists that have totally changed me and made me a better person, a more loving person and a person filled with gratitude for this wondrous gift.  I just can't believe that it's been ten years!  I'm not sure how this happened.  It seems like just yesterday he was starting kindergarten and pulling his first tooth. And now, he's getting hairy legs, developing an interest in girls and starting Middle School in a few weeks! (sniff)

Happy Birthday Jackson! I'll be giving you an official birthday present when you come home from camp in a few days... but really, I'm the one who is thankful for the gifts you give me every day. I can't imagine loving anything or anyone more!
