Local 14-yr old creates Halloween Carnival to benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

Normally, my schtick is to recap events after they occur. But, I received an email last night about an upcoming Halloween Carnival and I couldn't help but want to do my part to make Rankin's Halloween Hoe Down event a success.  What Mother wouldn't be proud of a 14-year old who wants to give back to his community.  If you have children between the ages of 3 and 9, check out this family-friendly event. After all, you need to get some use of that costume!

LuAnn Hobbs wrote, "My 14 year old son, Rankin, has single-handedly put together a carnival to benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. He hand-made every carnival game, purchased all of the prize candy with his own money and bought the raffle basket items with his Halloween costume money from his grandmother. He has sent e-vites to lots of lower school families of ESD, Greenhill, Hockaday and St. Marks but I don’t think people understand that this is a carnival put on by a boy with a huge heart because the evite is from “2016 Charity Organization” (a name he came up with).
I really want him to succeed by getting as many people as we can to attend, but sadly, I really don’t know many people with young kids who could attend! Please forward the attached flyer to anyone you know with young kids (3 years old to 4th grade). It would make Rankin so happy to reach his goal of $1,000 to donate to Scottish Rite."
