Appreciating an Oldie but a Goodie

My husband and I are opposites in many ways.

He is messy and a total pack rat. He still has text books from college courses in our attic.  Because "he might need to reference them one day".

I am neat as a pin.  Everything has a place and must be in it at all times.  So, it drives my husband crazy that I am always decluttering the house and throwing away perfectly good junk mail, week old newspapers and the like.

When I clean out my closet, which I do about twice a year, and take clothes to charity or resale he moans and complains abut how I am getting rid of perfectly good things. He says I am just looking for an excuse to go buy new stuff.

Um, yeah... so what your point?

The other day, I came across these socks in my drawer. I bought them in the Spring of 1987 when I pledged my sorority.

See.  I do not throw away perfectly good things that still have value. Some things are worth keeping around.  I can appreciate an oldie but a goodie.

How about you? What's one old thing you have that you can't bring yourself to part with?
