Calling cards originated in fifteenth century China, were popularized in Europe in the 1800s and were the precursor to the business card. Calling cards provided notification that a guest had attempted a visit while one was absent, indisposed or not receiving.
I attend so many events and meet so many people every week, I decided I needed a "calling card" to let people know how to find me. They arrived today and I think they are so cute!!
