Foodie News: Hotel Lumen unveils plans for The Front Room: A Park Cities Diner

The Hotel Lumen, owned by Headington Companies and managed by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, announced today the first piece of a multi-phase hotel expansion that included a new three-story addition.  The second phase of the expansion, scheduled to be complete in late summer 2012, will include the conversion of the existing lobby and Hillcrest-facing space into a classic diner-inspired restaurant called The Front Room: A Park Cities Diner by Tim McEneny of NL Group and Chef Doug Brown.

The new restaurant and bar, sure to be a gathering spot for hotel guests and Dallas locals alike, will serve three meals a day and feature a modern American menu, espresso bar and handcrafted cocktails. Designed by BOKA Powell, the space will feature retro-chic touches and include indoor and covered courtyard patio seating. The restaurant’s design and décor further articulates the mid-century architecture and attitude of the hotel with key elements that include floor-to-ceiling windows, basalt flooring and walls, a modern Heath ceramic tile accent wall, and hanging globe lights.

The second phase of the expansion also includes refurnishing and enhancing the existing 54 hotel guest rooms.  During construction hotel guests can enjoy in-room dining provided by The Front Room’s catering partner.

The Lumen is located at 6101 Hillcrest Avenue, Dallas, Texas.  For more information and reservations, please call 214-219-2400 or visit www.HotelLumen.com
