Celebrate Julia Child's 101st Birthday at rise nº1

rise nº1 invites you to join them on August 15th from 11am to 2pm in celebration of the 101st birthday of Julia Child, the American chef who made French cuisine accessible and adventurous. Come dressed as Julia and enjoy a Julia-inspired lunch at no charge.  Julia taught us that it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn how to fix what went wrong. Cooking can be and should be fun! We have her to thank (or to blame) for the Food Network and "Top Chef," as well as for the fact that every person who graduates from culinary school now harbors the secret conviction that she will wind up a celebrity chef. There has never been, nor will there likely ever be another spirit like Julia Child.

They ask that you please remember that this is a celebration of the life of this wonderful chef and to be respectful in your impersonations -while having fun. Men are welcome to come dressed as Paul (Julia's husband). Gratuity is not included.  Here are some ideas for your Julia costume:  Short wig in a brown, curled style , Blue or green button down shirt blouse , Black pencil skirt , Pearl necklace, Pearl earrings, High heels, Button pin (or circular sticker), Apron (tied around waist), Rolling pin, Rubber chicken, Whisk, Bag of flour, Basket of fruit and Cooking equipment.

rise nº1 is located at 5360 West Lovers Lane in Inwood Village, Dallas, Texas 75209.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling 214-366-9900.
