Fashionable Ways To Wear Your Texas Pride

Southerners have an immense amount of pride in our homeland. And no place has more bragging rights of awesomeness than Texas! Take it one step further, and I dare say that Dallas is the coolest city in the state of Texas. That's right, I said it! From our world-class museums to our artistic community, James Beard acclaimed chefs to the plethora of food trucks that roam the streets, designer fashions to unique boutiques, Dallas can lay claim to being the most enviable of all the Texas cities in terms of coolness. (In my opinion...) Fashion brands are taking note and creating stylish ways for Southern Belles to pay homage to our state, towns and even neighborhoods. Here are a few brands leading the pack in terms of wearable chic. And keep in mind that while I am only highlighting 3-4 designs per line there are many more to view, so visit their websites and poke around!

Bullzerk designs $23

Bullzerk is the newest company to the fashion scene and in the past few weeks they have caused quite a stir around town. While many companies are producing Texas-themed goods and some are producing Dallas-themed wear, NO ONE else has taken it to the grassroots neighborhood level - until Dan Bradley opened Bullzerk in February on Lower Greenville. CultureMap said Bradley's designs have "a style that’s equal parts social critic and cheeky humorist... Bullzerk celebrates the idiosyncrasies of Dallas’ neighborhoods and the running jokes about them that locals can appreciate." Bradley tells me that fashion bloggers are going crazy for the 'I Am Freaking Dallas' tee. Bullzerk plans to play up to holidays and local news trends to stay au currant. Bullzerk has three hilarious designs for St. Patrick's Day and if you are so inclined you can visit Bullzerk at 1909 Lower Greenville, Dallas, TX 75206 or visit www.bullzerk.com.

City Skyline on 16" chain $120  |  City Skyline ring $117-$147

City + Sky  is a Dallas-based jewelry line featuring city skylines on necklaces, rings and cuffs. The company launched with Dallas-themed accessories but skylines for Austin and Houston will be rolling out in April. Since little girls, twin sisters Allison Edwards and Courtney Edwards never lost their love for fashion, accessorizing and dressing the part. With age, a love for travel, the arts and enjoying the city life led them to pursue their creative talents and provide a showcase of things cherishable to them. Enamored by the demure of cities and all that they entail, their love for the CITY was evident. They also wanted to represent something from the heart-promoting peace, happiness and a worldly view of the SKY above. Because where you came from and where you’re in life is all about embracing the then and the now. Together with a vivid imagination, the will to infuse and inspire those, City + Sky arrived. As their motto goes….. Live in the City Where the Sky is yours to Wear!
