Sir Richard Branson and Virgin America Make a Dallas Debut

I had one of those surreal moments today where I looked around and thought, "How did I get here!?"

Today Virgin America launched flights out of DFW Airport starting with non-stop daily flights to Los Angeles and next week, they will add San Francisco.  The dashing Sir Richard Branson was on hand to celebrate the launch in grand Texas-style with a BBQ luncheon on the DFW tarmac.  A traditional BBQ lunch was catered by Eddie Deen's and a mini-herd of longhorn steer were brought in from the Ft. Worth Stockyards just for the occasion.

Why did Virgin America pick Dallas? I'll let him tell you in his own words:

Tonight, Sir Richard will take over the Winspear Opera house for a Texas-sized hoe-down featuring the legendary, Willie Nelson (fresh off his marijuana bust). The party will transform the multi-level opera house with unique lighting, specialty cocktails and DJ Red Foo of the Grammy-Nominated LA-based LMFAO spinning for the dance crowd.

Stay tuned people... this party is gonna be good.
