Donna Decorates Dallas Premieres Tonight on HGTV

HGTV says, "When Dallas homeowners feel the need to pimp out their lavish houses, they count on Donna Moss to bring the bling. Along with her two daughters, Tiffany and Ashley, and fabulous finds from the family-run boutique, That's Haute!, Donna brings high-end design to the land of high drama that is the Big D."

Tonight, HGTV will debut a new show centering on The Big D called Donna Decorates Dallas.  Moss is a former finalist from Season One of HGTV Design Star, calls herself “The Queen of Bling” and operates the designer boutique, “That’s Haute,” in Bedford.

I'm a little apprehensive about this show when I read that "her favorite design motifs include elegant Old World themes with glamorous Gothic tones and lush Hollywood-inspired rooms."  Hmmm. Sounds a little nouveau riche in a not so good way.  Also working against her is this publicity photo. I mean, yikes.

Her website says, "That’s Haute is an upscale retail boutique with an emphasis on home décor, interior design, and women’s fashions. We feature a unique blend of furniture, art, accessories, lighting, gifts and clothing."  What? This reminds me of Chili's, where you open the menu and they are serving 150 pages of food from Italian to Mexican to American to Chinese. Ever heard the saying, "Jack of all trades and Master of none".  I do not want to buy my wallpaper and light fixture at the same place I am buying a dress. Sounds like a Wal-Mart.

But, I am going to tune in to tonight's episode and hope that she represents us in the best possible way.  Tune in to Donna Decorates Dallas on HGTV every Monday at 9:00 PM.
