The holidays have ended and New Year has arrived, so I asked some of Dallas' most famous faces to reflect back and tell me what they most enjoyed about this holiday season and if they have set a New Year's Resolution for themselves.
"My favorite thing about this holiday season is that it’s almost over. KIDDING! It was pretty wild, with my freak “cable on car accident” on I-30 coming right before the par-tees and festivities! Just what you need three weeks before Christmas: $16,000 damage to your car!
I was heading to check out a wedding venue because my son became engaged to a wonderful, darling Pennsylvania girl shortly before Thanksgiving, and the wedding will be in Dallas (Hooray)!
We had some fun parties and my son was home one long weekend. But he went to her home in PA this year, which I said he could do – ONCE. Christmas was quiet, just my daughter and her husband and us.
Quiet, that is, ‘till I heard a noise late on Christmas Day when my Doodle Bree decided she deserved a piece of turkey. She counter-surfed and dragged the whole bird down on the kitchen floor! I can hear that Doodle brain working: let’s see, Mommy’s had three glasses of champagne, the coast is clear!
Best gift – besides the new car I’ll be getting - was gold Jimmy Choos, a pampering day at Cooper Spa and a pink cashmere robe. THEN I got a call from a producer. This week we are making a “Sizzle Reel” to pitch to HGTV, which is a sort of a pilot to sell to network executives for a show on Dallas Real Estate. Yours Truly would be the host – the gal who brought House Porn to the Bible Belt will be bringing Dallas real estate to the USA!
