Get Out and About for the week of October 7, 2012

One of the things I love about Dallas, is that there is no shortage of things to do. Educational, cultural, culinary, charitable, fashion-oriented, spiritual... you want it, Dallas serves it up! Every week there are literally dozens of options to entertain and enlighten yourself or create moments that you'll carry with you for a lifetime. Here are my highlights for this week:

Fall is all about football and one of the nation’s biggest rivalry’s will be battling it out on the football field this next weekend in the Texas/OU Red River Rivalry!

Enjoy live music, dancing, and raffle prizes in the heart of Dallas – a one stop shop for Texas fans to kick off the big weekend!

$100 tickets are all inclusive and feature:

They will be showing the big game on 9 flat screen TVs and a JUMBO projector!! Enjoy their brunch menu from 9am to 1pm featuring $10 bottomless margaritas and mimosas!

Order from their regular menu or game day menu. They'll have great drink specials until 10PM! ~ $16 beer buckets (Sol, Tecate, Dos Equis Lager) ~ $2 Team Shots ~ $5 house Margaritas and Mojitos ~ $3 Dos Equis Lager Drafts

And no party at Urban Taco is complete without tunes from DJ CHAMO. For more info, visit

The Plaza will be closed off for pedestrian-only traffic where guests can enjoy food demonstrations from foodie favorites Tei-An, Fedora and Jorge’s along with newcomers The Greek and Café Des Artistes. Don’t miss the infamous Cocktail Competition at 1 o’clock with local celebrity judges - including ME!

Seventeen local food and gift vendors, such as The Feather Junkie, Kruffles Dallas, Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters, Pop Star Popsicles and Three Dog Barkery, will set up shop around the plaza for adults, kids and dogs alike. The Southland Swing Band will provide a jazzy soundtrack all afternoon. Special thanks to floral sponsor, Gro Designs.
