Andy Cohen to entertain at the 13th Annual Chick Lit Luncheon
Community Partners of Dallas announced today tha Andy Cohen, New York Times best-selling author and Emmy Award-winning host and producer, will be the featured speaker for the 13th Annual Chick Lit Luncheon presented by Dr. Robert and Lara Tafel on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hilton Anatole. “We are so excited to announce Andy Cohen as this year’s featured speaker of the thirteenth annual Chick Lit Luncheon,” remarked Paige McDaniel, president and CEO of Community Partners of Dallas. “We look forward to him dishing on all things Bravo, in addition to sharing his experiences as a best-selling author and award-winning producer.” Leigh Anne Haugh and Amy Hegi will co-chair the annual fundraiser, with Amy Prestidge as honorary chair. I'd be shocked if the cast of the Real Housewives of Dallas were all not in attendance. Gini Florer, Emily Haddock, Liz Miller, Margaret Stafford, John Terlingo and Robert Weatherly will serve as the underwriting committee. As well, the 2019 Partners for Children Award recipient is Linda Perryman Evans and The Meadows Foundation. The Partners for Children Award is presented annually to an individual or an organization that has shown an ongoing commitment to the philanthropic needs of our community and whose years of service meet the needs of abused and neglected children.
Since 1989, Community Partners of Dallas has ensured safety and restored dignity and hope to abused and neglected children by providing crucial resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services. Community Partners of Dallas provides items such as winter coats, diapers and formula, holiday gifts, school uniforms, personal hygiene products, food and more, to send the abused children in our community the message that someone does care. The 13th annual Chick Lit luncheon will include a wine reception followed by a seated luncheon, presentation of the Partners for Children Award and remarks by Mr. Cohen. Tables begin at $2,500 and are on sale now; individual tickets will go on sale in early April if space permits. For more information, visit www.communitypartnersdallas.org.

Andy Cohen Is Bringing Watch What Happens Live To Dallas
Real Housewife of Dallas star, LeeAnne Locken, on WWHL with Andy Cohen and SNL's Cicely Strong (June 2016 ) |
Bravo Media’s late-night staple Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen is testing the off-network syndication waters with a limited test run this summer. WWHL is Bravo's late-night, interactive talk show that features guests from the world of entertainment, politics and pop culture. Hosted by Andy Cohen, the series has become a nightly destination for A-listers including Meryl Streep, Cher, Oprah, Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Lawrence, Mariah Carey, Will Ferrell and Gwyneth Paltrow. Whether “Pleading the Fifth” or “Opening The Vault,” endless memorable moments have been revealed as host Andy Cohen continues to challenge some of the biggest celebrities and Bravolebrities on the only truly live, interactive series in late night television. In the Lone Star State, you can watch the talk show weeknights on KDFI 27 Dallas-Fort Worth at 9:30pm and Fox 26 KRIV Houston at 11:30pm starting tonight, June 26th. I understand some of the biggest names that have appeared on the 30-minute show will be guests on this summer preview. Mazel!

What Does A Town Do When A #RHOD Housewife Insults Your City? THIS.
The first episode of the Real Housewives of Dallas which aired April 11 had Housewife Cary Deuber hosting a benefit at her home where the childish behavior of fellow Housewives, Brandi Redmond and Stephanie Hollman, irritated the charitably minded LeeAnne Locken causing her to utter under her breath (to me, I might add) "It's a little Plano in here." The episode ended with a blow up between LeeAnne and Brandi over what's valuable in the charity world. This argument will set the tone for the rest of the season. But there was another blow up that you might have missed... and this one took place on social media over LeeAnne's comment about Plano. Watch the clip below. The Plano comment happens about 1:00 into the scene:

Andy Cohen reveals how Ladies of Dallas became Real Housewives of Dallas
![]() |
Click to head over to Bravo to watch this video interview |
On a recent edition on Bravo's The Daily Dish, Andy Cohen revealed that Real Housewives of Dallas has been a long time coming. "We've been tinkering around with Dallas for, I want to say seven years we've been thinking about this. We cast there. We cast in Houston. We didn't get it right in either place," Andy explained. "And then this casting happened, I want to say, maybe a year ago. (Try a year a a half, Andy) I don't even know. We thought this could be good. Is it a Ladies of Dallas? Is it a Housewives? And then we we saw it we thought... This is a Real Housewives of Dallas" To which I say, "Yaaaaaaaas!" Andy goes on to say that the ladies that have been cast remind him of Orange County and New York in the early years. When asked to elaborate, he said, "It's the way they communicate with each other. It's about how they live their lives, it's about families, it's very grounded... and it just harkens back to early Housewives." Andy is clearly infatuated with the cast of RHOD and I'm sure we will be too! Bravo has yet to announce the cast of RHOD and speculation is rampant among both local and national media outlets. Even I have been fingered by many as a possible candidate here and here and here. Aw, shucks... You sure know how to flatter a girl. Like Andy loves to say, we will just have to "watch what happens" but you know you will here it here first - so stay tuned!

Bravo confirms Courtney Loves Dallas for Fall lineup. Sort of.
To read EXCLUSIVE interviews with Courtney Kerr, click here for more scoop
In the summer of 2011 Bravo tried a new show format called Most Eligible: Dallas. The plan was to launch the concept in multiple cities - Chicago and the New York City and so on. Alas, the show was not well received and the whole concept was scrapped.
What Bravo did love was the big-haired, big mouth Courtney Kerr and they decided to develop a spin-off around her. The premiss? "Breakout star Courtney Kerr of “Most Eligible Dallas” navigates the lively Dallas social scene with her group of sassy, dynamic friends in this docu-series", said a Bravo press release. "Juggling her search for the perfect southern gentleman while trying to make a name for herself in the fashion industry with the growing popularity of her fashion blog, Courtney proves that having it all isn't easy."
UPDATE (10/21/13) Bravo has just confirmed that Courtney Loves Dallas will launch Thursday, December 5, 2013. To read my exclusive interview with Courtney Kerr click here.
Bravo's Andy Cohen confirmed on Twitter Friday that "Courtney Loves Dallas" staring our own Courtney Kerr will air... "soon". Originally, this new doc-series was slated for Spring 2013, then it got pushed to Summer and now we have our fingers crossed for a Fall debut.

Drinking and Tweeting with Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville and Courtney Kerr |
The adorably inappropriate Brandi Glanville breezed through town on Sunday to promote her new book "Drinking and Tweeting" at a cocktail soiree at Bistro 31 in Highland Park Village. The signing was supposed to start at 1:30. At 2:30 people were standing restlessly in line. The hold up? Well, for starters, she was just late. But then, aren't all celebs? Usually. Fellow Bravolebrity Courtney Kerr interviewed her for an upcoming segment on D: The Broadcast and then she (finally) hit the signing table posing for quick photos and signing her tome. For those who watch her on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I have two things to say about her: 1) Yes, she is amazon tall and reed thin and 2) Yes, she is as stunning in person as she appears to be on the show. I asked her if she was getting a perverse sense of pleasure from drawing such a large crowd in LeAnn Rimes home town. She gave me a "Oh no, you did'unt" look and just laughed...
After her HPV appearance, she headed to the Gayborhood and held another book signing at The Grapevine. Now, I wasn't there, but I heard things got a little crazy. As in there was lots of alcohol consumed, body parts exposed, a reporter was insulted and an escort out was needed. Allegedly. But then, really... what do you expect? It's Brandi Glanville! I would have been disappointed if she'd been all proper and ladylike. I'm assuming at least some of what I heard was true because this morning, Brandi tweeted this:

Big Rich Texas duo Bon Blossman and Whitney Whatley star in Hasbro commercial
Big Rich Texas has been quietly working its way up the reality TV radar, thanks in large part to its over-the-top stars Bon Blossman and Whitney Whatley. At first glance they look like dumb blondes with a lot of eye make-up who love to throw down a cocktail. Piss them off and they are likely to throw one AT you! But look closer and what you'll soon realize is these two are a loving Mother/Daughter duo with a tight family bond. And they definitely believe that the family who plays together, stays together. So who better to represent Game Night for Hasbro?!
