Reality Tea is a reality television gossip website that I am completely addicted to. You want to gossip on who's cheating on who? And what she really said behind her co-stars back? And how much do they really make? They've got the scoop. They just published the results of their First Annual Reality Tea Readers Choice Awards and our own Big Rich Texas got a nod as a runner up in the category of "Canceled Reality Show You Wish Would Come Back". There was a time, not too many years ago, that you couldn't walk into a Dallas bar or restaurant without running into a film crew shooting a reality show. Courtney Loves Dallas was the last show to be filmed here (and that was 2012) and since then, it's been crickets for us! I do hear that two new shows are in pre-production... and you know I am ALL OVER that story so stay tuned! Reality Tea's poll was national, but that got me thinking... what Dallas reality TV show would you like to see make a return? VOTE below!

Big Rich Texas star Melissa Poe Ties the Knot

Congrats to Melissa Poe of Big Rich Texas and Doug Carson who tied the know Friday night in an intimate ceremony. The reception was held poolside at SISU in Uptown and apparently someone didn't think to tent the place, so guests got rained on. But as you can see from the video below, the rain didn't dampen Melissa's excitement. Plus, it's good luck for it to rain on your wedding!  In attendance were BRT cast mates Bon Blossman, Connie Dieb, Cindy Davis, DeAynni Hatley and new cast member (you'll meet her in season 4 - if it ever airs) Donna Parker Smith. 

Melissa looked amazing in a grecian gown by Dallas-based bridal company Watters. The Leonor gown featured an ivory alencon lace scoop neckline and bodice with Blush silk satin organza a-line skirt. The couple departed the next day for a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas.  We here at OSC wish the happy couple all the best for a wonderful future together!

Is Big Rich Texas dead?

Neiman Marcus was not the only billion dollar biz to create buzz today. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC Universal announced today that starting September 23, it will replace the Style network with a new cable network aimed at men called Esquire. NBC Universal Cable Entertainment Group chairman Bonnie Hammer attributed the decision to brand overlap between the Style network and similarly female-skewed cable channels also owned by NBC Universal, including Bravo, E! and Oxygen. As part of the rebrand, some of Style's current series will continue on the Esquire schedule, while others will either end their run or move to one of the other logical women's nets.

So, what does this mean for our Style network show Big Rich Texas? And what's to become of the planned BRT spinoff Whitney's Having a Baby?  Will they be a causality of the transition or will another network pick them up?  BRT star Bon Blossman texted me today to say, "We are anxiously awaiting to see what network we will be moved to!"  I will keep you posted as news breaks.

Big Rich Texas stars gather to celebrate the engagement of Melissa Poe

Friday evening, friends and cast members of Melissa Poe gathered at Dee Lincoln's Bubble Bar to celebrate her engagement to Doug Carson.  The couple glowed when talking about their upcoming September 20 nuptials. The wedding will be an intimate affair with a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas.  Big Rich Texas cast members Connie Dieb, Wendy Walker, Bon Blossman and DeAynni Hatley attended the cocktail soiree. Missing from the party was BRT star Cindy Davis, who was involved in some real life drama last week (not the scripted kind we see on BRT) when her boyfriend was shot right in front of her during a dispute.  NBC5 has the story here.  Thankfully, he is going to make a full recovery but Cindy was unable to make the party.

Big Rich Texas star Whitney Whatley gives birth to Rhythm Myer Overbey

Congratulations to Big Rich Texas lovebirds, Whitney Whatley and Brandon "Booger" Overbey. They welcomed their first child into the world around 12:30 pm today. Although the family has been calling her "Baby Mayhem" on social posts for the past nine months, her given name will officially be Rhythm Myer Overbey.  Glamma Bon Blossman has already told me that if it's up to her, the baby will call her "Bon Bon".  She has jokingly said husband Jason Myer's nickname will probably be "Grumpa".  Among the first visitors to welcome Rhythm to the world of reality TV were co-stars Melissa and Maddie Poe.

Big Rich Texas star Melissa Poe and beau Doug Carson, are engaged!  During a romantic getaway to Charleston, South Carolina last week, Doug popped the question to a stunned Melissa on the rooftop of the beautiful Market Pavilion Hotel.

Melissa told me exclusively that they are wasting no time getting to the altar and will tie the knot in September.  The exact date will depend on the availability of venues. "I really want Doug and Maddie (her daughter) to have time to bond before she goes off to college next summer."

The pair plan to honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas. September will mark the one year anniversary of their meeting. Seems like a perfect way to spend your one year anniversary - by getting married!

Let's get to the good part, because I know you all want to know about the ring. Doug was a smart man and worked with jeweler Maggie Jalufka Sova of Bova Diamonds. The main stone is a 2.5 carat round cut brilliant cut with .5 carats of diamonds circling the white gold band. Not too shabby...

Reality TV stars take big screen leap with "Faith"

Several local reality stars have been cast in an upcoming film set for a February 2013 release. Faith is a short film that follows the lives of six young adults whose paths cross through a central character - causing their outlook to be determined by their reaction to circumstances, thus demonstrating that sometimes, you just need to have a little faith.

Highlights from the Big Rich Texas Reunion Show, Part One

Part One of the Big Rich Texas Reunion Special hosted by Vivica Fox aired tonight on the Style Network.  Vivica brought up the fact that Bon & Whitney will whip out a costume for any event: self-defense class (ninja costume), dog birthday party (cat costume), BBQ at the Country Club (cowboys and indians)... it doesn't take much to get these two playing make-believe.  My favorite line of the night came from Bon Blossman (who stole it from her daughter, Whitney Whatley) when she said, "I love glitter, it's the herpes of the art world." Classic reality TV moment. Just sayin'.

Big Rich Texas Reunion Show Airs Tonight

You've watched all season as Cindy made a man-grab for every male within reach, Bonnie realized LesLIEs true character and a friendship ended, Kalyn and Whitney continued to trash each other at every opportunity, Melissa launched a swimwear line, DeAynni became a Texas Diva and Whitney fell in love with a tattoo artist named "Booger".  Well, grab a glass of wine and tune in tonight at 7:00 PM/Central to see the claws come out on the Season 3 Big Bitch Rich Texas Reunion Special hosted by Vivica Fox.  (Part 2 will air Wednesday, January 16)

Dallas Reality TV Star Takes on New York Fashion Week

Nikki Walker from Big Rich Texas will hit the cat walk during New York Fashion Week on February 9 to participate in "The Reality of Fashion/The Reality of AIDS" benefiting AIDS United.

Nikki will stomp the runway with the likes of 'Lil Kim (Dancing With The Stars, The Apprentice & Girlicious), Janice Dickinson (America's Next Top Model), Aviva Drescher, Ramona Singer and Alex McCord (Real Housewives of NYC) and a handful of other ladies that barely made a blip on my reality radar.

Walker told me exclusively, "I have modeled for many years. I was more into it when I was still competing in pageants, but I love to (model) when I have time these days! I am super nervous about walking with Janice Dickinson. I mean, she is the first supermodel ever! I hope I don't have to walk right after her.  She will put me to shame!"

Big Rich Texas stars Whitney Whatley and Brandon Overbey are Having a BABY!

It was just a few months ago, that I brought you news that one of my favorite reality divas, Whitney Whatley of Big Rich Texas, was getting married to Brandon "Booger" Overbey.  Today, the pair announced that they have set a wedding date of October 31, 2013. Whitney will wear a black dress and there will be 13 bridesmaids and 13 groomsmen. Very goth.  The other big bomb they dropped was that they are expecting a BABY!!

If viewers will recall, in last week's episode Brandon asked Whitney's parents for permission to purpose and Whitney's Mom, Bon Blossman, threatened Brandon within an inch of his life if he made her a grandmother... Better hide, Booger! Grandma Bonnie is gonna be out to get you! The little jelly bean is due July 24, 2013.  Bon tells me that the baby will call her "BonBon". Too cute!

Big Rich Texas has been quietly working its way up the reality TV radar, thanks in large part to its over-the-top stars Bon Blossman and Whitney Whatley.  At first glance they look like dumb blondes with a lot of eye make-up who love to throw down a cocktail. Piss them off and they are likely to throw one AT you! But look closer and what you'll soon realize is these two are a loving Mother/Daughter duo with a tight family bond.  And they definitely believe that the family who plays together, stays together.  So who better to represent Game Night for Hasbro?!

Reality Bites at The Quarter bar

The Quarter* bar and the Dallas Observer partnered last week for a "Reality Bites" Halloween celebration on Thursday, October 25. They were looking for Housewives, Master Chefs, Survivors, American Idols, and Dance Moms from the Jersey Shore to enter their reality star costume contest. The winners were selected by Bon Blossman and Whitney Whatley, stars of Big Rich Texas!!  How perfect is that!  Fingerless Ghost provided a rockin' live music performance and despite a bit of drizzle, everyone had a great time partaking in the Honey Boo Boo shot specials.  Here are some scenes from the evening - because why use a thousand words when I can just show you photos...

The gals of BRT (minus Wendy Walker) flew to La-La land this weekend to film the reunion show and talk about the drama that was Season 3 of Big Rich Texas and I can't wait to see what comes out since they are NEVER all in one room together. We are only 2 episodes into the season and already the blogs and social channels are buzzing over the "slap heard 'round the world" from last week, courtesy of DeAynni Hatley. (Personally, I think Style loved the attention the slap got last season and "encouraged" DeAynni to keep the drama going... but I could be wrong. Just a guess)

Congrats to Big Rich Texas star, Whitney Whatley, who announced her engagement to Brandon Overby today by changing Facebook status update to "Engaged".  Overby posted this photo today expressing his happiness and had Whatley show off her bling. Congrats you crazy kids!
