Pets of Quarantine: The Work Edition

IT’S A PAW-TY FOR THESE DALLAS PETS OF QUARANTINE: THE WORK EDITION
by Leah Frazier

“If you have a furbaby or even swooned at the movie Pets, you’ll often wonder if your cat or dog has a human mind of its own. Even in the midst of COVID-19 and the disruption of life as we know it, these intelligible, high-sensory beings can tell when you need a little pick-me-up or have sensed that something’s out of order. But to these loyal creatures, in the midst of the current crisis, they’re totally #winning, because let’s face it — their beloved human beings are now home. All. Day. Long. In the spirit of positivity, we tapped the feeds of some of our favorite CEO’s, bosses and work-from-home gurus — just to see how life with the newest member of their team is panning out. From napping on the job to barking it up on Zoom (can you please put your phone on mute?), these furbabies are now living their best #QuarantineLife.”

CLICK HERE to scroll through, “Paw-ty” on and “yap” it up for what Leah Frazier at Inspire ‘N Style is coining as the #PetsOfQuarantine – the work edition. I am thrilled to have my sweet Tuco included in this feature. He has turned out to be a fantastic employee for Gangway Advertising - he never talks back and seemingly agrees with everything I say. You didn’t ask for it, but she’s delivering it. So smile. You’re welcome.

Halloween Makeup From Decades Past From Blushington

Parties are fun, but a COSTUME party is always my favorite, which makes Halloween the best holiday of the year! I had so much fun Art Directing this segment on Good Morning Texas and helping Blushington show viewers how to create timeless looks from decades of the past. Looks from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s are easy to pull together using items you probably already have around the house. Dash into Party City for a few accessoires and wa-la! Take your concept from good to great with a visit to Blushington. From a hand-jiving Pink Lady to a hippie chick, punk rocker to a superhero, Blushington can help you create the perfect makeup look to top off your outfit and take home first prize at your party. Special thanks to my girl, Leah Frazier, for donning her best Diana Ross wig and shaking her groove thing on today’s segment to help us showcase the 70s. Of course, I nabbed the 80s for myself. Hello! These were my glory years and I love to relive them, even if it’s for just a few hours whenever I can. Blushington has studios in Dallas, New York and Los Angeles. Call or make your appointment online today!

FUN FACT: I got the Lucky Star earring I am wearing on May 4, 1985 at Madonna's "Like A Virgin" concert in Dallas. I can't believe that 30+ years later I haven't lost or broken it. It's one of my prized possessions because it brings back so many fun memories for me. I love pulling it out for occasions like this one!

Dallas Market Center celebrates the 10th Anniversary of FashionCenterDallas

Shirin Askari of Askari
Founded in 1957, Dallas Market Center (DMC) is the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace. Within its marketplace of more than five million square feet, retailers from around the globe source products ranging from home furnishings, gifts, decorative accessories and lighting to textiles, fashion accessories and men's, western, women's and children's apparel.

Every year more than 75,000 buyers visit DMC and place orders with their exhibitors. They represent small specialty stores and major retailers. DMC supports them by showcasing the most complete and highest quality exhibitors from start-ups to legendary names.

I recently teamed up with DMC to celebrate the 10th anniversary of FashionCenterDallas, which is Dallas Market Center’s complete apparel marketplace of more than 575 showrooms and yearly 1,000 temporary booths, merchandised in easy-to-shop neighborhoods.

I helped curate the list of local fashion bloggers and social influencers which included Cathy Williamson for The Middle Page, Heather Anderson for Style by Fluent, Leah Frazier for DFW Style Daily, Samantha Stewart for Style of Sam, and Hilary Kennedy among others.

At the showroom of Brad Hughes we got a preview of what Catharine Maladrino, Finley, and Layfayette 148 are offering for Fall. Next up, the D2 Drysdale Showroom where we viewed the latest trends in denim from Free People and Miss Me. At Indigo, we ran into one of my favorite local designers, Shirin Askari showing her new collection for Askari.

My favorite stop was The Ritz Group mainly because owner Brad Ritz was so charming and passionate about the lines he showed us. His showroom was amazing and we saw a wide variety of beautiful lines including Alice & Trixie, Trace Reese, and Alexander McQueen. Our afternoon ended with a champagne toast and a runway show showcasing the hottest in Fall trends from DMC. Sitting next to Women's Wear Daily writer, Holly Haber, confirmed this was an afternoon well spent in my continuing fashion education.
